At York Hospital, students from our program have the opportunity to take advantage of a state-of-the-art simulation center, featuring:
- Skills lab for practice with direct laryngoscopy, gildescope and fiberoptic intubations, central line and arterial line insertion, spinals, epidurals, and peripheral nerve blocks
- A high-fidelity simulated operating room with an interactive Sim Man and a Drager anesthesia gas machine
- Several patient examination rooms where students can interview actor patients and practice physical assessment skills
- A dedicated debriefing room
CRNA students get an opportunity to "see one, do one, teach one" by teaching area high school students throughout the year. They teach everything from basic CPR skills to advanced anesthesia techniques in small group sessions. CRNA students also answer questions about various professions in health care, helping to shape the future of the next generation of health care providers.
